On the 18th of November 1928, Mickey Mouse was whistling across the screens as a whistling seaman in “Steamboat Willie”. No one suspected that his debut in the following decades would be one of Hollywood’s most formidable careers. For a long time Mickey and his better half Minnie have been real media stars: as icons and symbols of the entire Walt Disney Company, they symbolize dreams, magic and imagination, connecting generations and always reminding us of the importance of humor and optimism.
As part of this year’s festival and on the occasion of Mickey’s 90th anniversary, the cult mouse has been on display as a light show on four famous landmarks and squares in Berlin. All viewers were invited to share their photo with one of the Micky projections under the #Mickey90 hashtag on social media. 90 Mickey plush toys from SIMBA were raffled.
Presented by Disney.
