Faces for Freedom

presented by

See your face light up the TV Tower

This year, the Festival of Lights will take place in Berlin from October 11-20, 2019, and is set to mark two very special occasions — the festival’s 15th anniversary and 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event, we will let the history of the city shine with this year’s theme, Lights of Freedom.

One of the highlights of the festival will take place at the iconic TV Tower, where we will present Faces for Freedom in partnership with GetYourGuide. This campaign will allow people from around the world to see themselves on Germany’s highest building. We will project their photos onto the TV Tower in a huge format for 10 seconds. Then, during the Festival, we will bring together all the photos to create a collage that will make history.

We would love to invite people across the world to participate in this incredible initiative and join us in making Berlin shine.

How does it work?

Send us your selfie or video (10 secs max). The image will be projected onto the TV Tower in extra-large format for 10 seconds, for thousands of festival visitors to see. After 10 seconds, the image will move to the top of the tower where it will join the previously projected photos. At the end of the festival, the entire TV Tower will be covered with a collage of images that represent freedom.
