Light installation by Philippe Morvan
An absolute highlight stood on the Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in front of the Spielbank Berlin: the monumental light installation “Menschen Leipzig – Berlin” by the French light artist Philippe Morvan. It was dedicated to two 30-year anniversaries: the peaceful revolution in Leipzig and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
In a circle with a diameter of 9 meters, the artist took the visitors with him into the heart of the installation and merged them with it and its light message. The special feature about it: almost 1000 historical flashlights were collected in Leipzig. These flashlights formed a light circle filled with luminous messages.
The installation celebrated its premiere on October 1 in Leipzig, where the Peaceful Revolution began, and then came to Berlin on October 11.
The exhibition was presented by Spielbank Berlin, Potsdamer Platz and the Festival of Lights International.
