Installation “Man”

Visions of the Future: A room-filling light art installation with intellectual depth, designed to provoke thought in turbulent times, has found its home in the Center at Potsdamer Platz.

MAN, an impressive light art giant standing about 12 meters tall and 13 meters wide, is the creation of Australian artist Amanda Parer. Inspired by Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker from 1880, the artwork represents humanity’s pursuit of intellectual thought and philosophy. In Parer’s towering illuminated figure, we witness the results of modern human arrogance.

The figure holds its head, reflecting on the pressing question: How do we want to live in the future?
