43. Siemensbahn

Light- and sound installation

The 800-meter-long steel viaduct of the historic Siemensbahn, once painted in blue, is brought back to life with an impressive light and sound installation in shades of blue. This formerly forgotten part of Siemensstadt is revived in a stunning display.

PULS is an artistic exploration of human mobility in the city. The audiovisual installation by the Berlin creative studio KLING KLANG KLONG captures the dynamics of human movement and depicts a day in urban life – from morning to night. The centrepiece of the installation is a complex polyrhythmic sequencing machine whose patterns reflect the dynamic and intricate flow of people. In this way, light and sound emerge from a single source and reflect the pulse of the city

The revival of the Siemensbahn is one of the many expansion projects under the i2030 initiative, contributing to a successful transportation transformation. From 2029, it will connect the new Siemensstadt Square district to the S-Bahn network.
