33. Charlottenburg Palace

FOL Award 2025
3D Video Mapping Show

In front of the magnificent backdrop of Charlottenburg Palace, three international studios present stunning 3D video mappings: The Fox, The Folks (IDN), ANIONA VISION (ROU), and RE:SORB (DE).

Under the motto “Let’s Shine Together,” the Baroque palace transforms into a glowing stage where history meets the present. The projections illuminate the historic architecture with captivating displays of light art.

Festival of Lights Award 2025: The historic palace becomes a canvas for a breathtaking interplay of light and color. The artists create a living projection in which floral, abstract, and emotional motifs make the façade bloom. Colors, shapes, and movement merge into an impressive composition of light, symbolizing freedom, creativity, and the power of artistic expression.

Another highlight is “The Tale of Balance” – a modern fairy tale that bridges two crucial themes: the destruction of our environment and the growing strain on mental health and well-being. Both are consequences of a lost connection to nature. The tale serves as the basis for a poetic sound composition with spoken text – an audiovisual narrative that challenges, connects, and inspires reflection.

The Festival of Lights sincerely thanks the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office for its participation, presenting its current recruiting campaign in an impressive display on the palace’s majestic facade.

The Fox, The Folks | Indonesia

A sleeping forest, veiled in silver moonlight, guards its secrets in stillness. From the night, a radiant sphere descends, an ember of inspiration, stirring quiet eyes and coaxing faint light from the shadows. A butterfly, born of transformation, carries this glow to the heart of stone, where a great flower bursts into bloom. Its light unfurls across the walls like ripples in water, awakening vines, blossoms, and glowing life long forgotten. The facade becomes a living paradise, a chorus of color and breath, where all things hum in harmony. And when the brilliance softens into a cosmic night, its glow remains, a quiet promise that beauty, once awakened, never truly fades.

PLAY is a work about rediscovering color as an emotional state, a movement, and a memory. Inspired by the free visual language of childhood and the avant-garde aesthetics of the early 20th century, the animation unfolds as a continuous transition—from the shadow of a forgotten building caught on vintage film, to a fluid chromatic choreography, and finally to a moment of synthesis where each color becomes an emotional tribute—an act of artistic remembrance.

RE:SORB | Germany

„The Cathedral of the Infinite Scroll” is a large-scale projection mapping work that transforms the façade into a luminous altar of data and algorithms. What begins as a radiant cathedral of likes, feeds, and notifications soon spirals into the hypnotic loop of the infinite scroll, where even a human hand dissolves into pixels as it touches the surface. The overload collapses into darkness, giving way to organic waves of living light that pulse with breath-like rhythm. The piece reflects on our devotion to machines, the loss of human presence in the attention economy, and the possibility of renewal beyond the algorithm.
