13. Humboldt University

3D video mapping show

Show Loop approx. 8 minutes

As part of the Festival of Lights, the historic facade of Humboldt University of Berlin will be transformed into a luminous homage to the element of water — a symbol of life and a dynamic force that inspires artists around the world.

In line with the festival’s motto “Let’s Shine Together,” the façade will feature the stunning 270-degree 3D video mapping show “Drop of Life. Drop of Light,” presented by the Zagreb Tourist Board and WWF. The projection showcases the power and versatility of water — life-giving, unpredictable, and endlessly fascinating — and illustrates how water connects life, innovation, and creativity, brought vividly to life on the façade of Humboldt University.

A second video projection is dedicated to the exhibition “On Water. WasserWissen in Berlin.”
The fascinating underwater footage was provided by the Monterey Bay Aquarium for this video installation. The exhibition will be on view at the Humboldt Labor starting October 10, 2025, and presents current research projects of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA).
