13. Humboldt-Universität

As part of the Festival of Lights, the historic façade of Humboldt University of Berlin will be transformed into a luminous homage to the element of water — a symbol of life and a dynamic force that inspires artists around the world.

In line with the festival’s motto “Let’s Shine Together,” the façade will feature the stunning 270-degree 3D video mapping show “Drop of Life. Drop of Light,” presented by the Zagreb Tourist Board and WWF. The projection showcases the power and versatility of water — life-giving, unpredictable, and endlessly fascinating — and illustrates how water connects life, innovation, and creativity, brought vividly to life on the façade of Humboldt University.

The projection is dedicated to the exhibition “On Water. WasserWissen in Berlin.” Scientific insights are accompanied by artistic perspectives, with water interpreted through an artistic lens that vividly conveys its complexity. Opening on October 10, 2025, the exhibition at the Humboldt Lab presents current research projects from the Berlin University Alliance (BUA).
