Facade Staging “The Hands of Berlin”

every evening, except on October 12 and 14

The Festival of Lights once again illuminates the newly renovated Gendarmenmarkt – with the Konzerthaus Berlin shining as its radiant prologue. True to the message “Festival of Lights brings people together beyond all boundaries”, this staging becomes an emotional meeting point for all generations.

At its heart lies the art project “The Hands of Berlin”: children from the Arche Foundation leave colourful handprints as a visible symbol of unity. From many small hands emerges one great “We.” At the same time, the facade transforms into a canvas, bringing together the children’s favorite motifs in a glowing digital collage.

We are delighted that young artists also took part in the festival – with pictures that remind us of what really matters: hope, the moment, togetherness. With the pictures from the art project “The Hands of Berlin,” the children of the Arche Kinderstiftung send a clear message of solidarity – with colorful handprints. Together with mini works of art painted by children, the result is an enchanting collaborative project.

Together we shine the brightest.
Everyone can support these young artists: the QR code built in the light installation leads directly to donation opportunities in support of the Arche.
