CIRCLE
SKG+ about her artwort: “The circle is a profound and powerful shape, embodying inclusiveness and completeness in its form while symbolizing perfection, continuity, reunion, unity, and harmony. In various cultures, the circle is seen as a symbol of unity and harmony. For instance, in Chinese culture, traditional foods like tangyuan and mooncakes are circular, representing family reunion and good fortune. Similarly, ancient Greek circular temples and theaters reflect their pursuit of perfection and symmetry. In Norse mythology, mysterious circular symbols in the “Norse runes” represent the cycle of the universe and the connect of the world. Even in the modern world, the circle holds significance; in mathematics and science, it represents key points and connections, while in art and design, it brings balance and visual appeal. The circle conveys the interconnectedness and interdependence of individuals, symbolizing the unity and harmony of communities and societies. In addition, CIRCLE also represents the cycle of life. The work we did at the Berlin Light Festival last year was about being in awe of life lost, and because I’m having a baby this November, I also think about the coming of life. Therefore, the whole work also describes the birth of life, which is the greatest miracle and shine of human beings.”
