26. Das Center am Potsdamer Platz

Building a house of cards, carefully leaning each card against the next, and holding your breath with every new story: The radiant artwork “House of Cards” by OGE Design Group captures this very childhood memory on a grand scale. At Center am Potsdamer Platz, this impressive installation of 126 oversized playing cards shines as a vibrant structure made of light. Here, the house of cards does not symbolize fragility, but rather the courage to dare something new, to grow beyond ourselves layer by layer, and to trust one another.

Each individual card features the work of a different international artist. Only through the collaboration of all 40 creative teams does the stable, glowing structure come to life. A metaphor for our society and this year’s festival theme, “Colours of Love”: Individually, every card is an artwork in its own right. But only together can we carry the future, foster unity, and make the city glow in the dark.
