From October 9 to 18, 2026, we will once again transform Berlin into a radiant stage for light art as we celebrate the 22nd edition under the motto “Colours of Love.”
With great attention to detail, we combine light, art, and music to create new perspectives, illuminate Berlin’s iconic landmarks, and set our guests’ hearts aglow. This year, everything revolves around the most poetic and profound of all emotions: love.
Love has many facets and countless forms of expression. It is not just a single moment — it is all-encompassing. Over the course of ten evenings, we invite you to rediscover Berlin and fall in love with the city all over again.

Let’s shine together!
Under this motto, we celebrated the 21st Festival of Lights from October 8 to 15, 2025! This year, everything revolved around cohesion, community, and connectedness. With the diversity of light art, we told stories that built bridges and showcased the beauty of Berlin.
Berlin became a place for encounters and shared experiences. The Festival of Lights invited people to create connections—between people, cultures, and generations. Because light knows no barriers and unfolds its full power when it is shared. We experienced the power of togetherness, because together, we shine the brightest!

Millions of bright faces. Millions of shining eyes. This is what the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS stands for every autumn since 2005. When Berlin becomes the big glowing stage and the monuments, buildings and squares become the stars. When all of Berlin lights up! This is when we tell stories, draw attention to the hidden, present cultures, arts and innovative technology, and convey messages and current issues. Magic Moments in Berlin!
