2023

The Berlin Cathedral is one of the biggest landmarks of our city and therefore was entitled to carry a special message during the festival: Diversity is inclusion. Visitors were able to experience art created by artists with and without disabilities.

All artworks of the cathedral were characterized by strong individual artistic expression. The relief of the cathedral is an invitation and a challenge at the same time, which makes each work a skilful play of colors, shapes and dimensions.

For the first time, the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS at the Berlin Cathedral was showing a mixture of 10 works. Three artists are wheelchair bound and cannot move their arms or legs. They draw their art by guiding the brush or pencil with their mouths.

2021

The Berlin Cathedral has been an integral part of the festival’s programme since its inception. In 2021, it was the projection surface for various interpretations of the festival motto “Creating Tomorrow” and presents contributions by well-known international artists such as Thierry Noir, Otto Schade, Archan Nair, Ross Ashton, Daniel Margraf and MP-STUDIO. One of the still projections also came to life via augmented reality.
