18. State Opera
Architectural staging
The entire Bebelplatz lights up in a spectacular 180-degree display themed “Celebrating Freedom.” On the State Opera, giant birds in vibrant colors flutter across the façade.
The black-and-white background contrasts beautifully with the colorful creatures and the elegance of Berlin’s oldest opera house. This almost hypnotic architectural presentation is the work of artist Daniel Margraf.
On October 7, the Festival of Lights programme on the entire Bebelplatz will start at 9 pm.
