Since 1981, we have consistently worked according to the principle of helping people to help themselves. We provide effective emergency aid in the event of disasters and are committed to the sustainable fight against poverty, hunger and disease worldwide. Helping people to help themselves is at the heart of our project work and determines our actions.

We support people in their own efforts and enable them to master their lives independently. For us, helping people to help themselves means sustainable help on an equal footing. For us, the people and institutions we work with on the ground are partners with whom we work together to bring about sustainable change. Help provides needs-based, principled and environmentally conscious support in recognition of the equality of all people in their diversity and life situations. Help’s aid projects reach over six million people. Among other things, Help provides climate-resistant seeds, conducts training courses on topics such as sustainable agriculture or earthquake-proof construction, drills wells, supports people in setting up small businesses and distributes food, water and hygiene products in crisis contexts. This is how Help creates prospects locally.
