4. Train Station Hackescher Markt

The Festival of Lights immersed the train station “Hackescher Markt” in a colorful sea of lights. From October 6 to 15, 2023, it was artfully illuminated alongside numerous landmarks, buildings and squares. Under this year’s motto “Colours of Life,” the festival set an example for diversity in society and transformed the capital into an open-air gallery with radiant works of art at around 40 locations.

Throughout the festival, light artists had been making the train station “Hackescher Markt” glow every evening.

Train stations define the travel experience of millions of passengers every year. They connect people and places and have an important historical significance, especially in Berlin as a formerly divided city. During the Festival of Lights, train stations are given a special spotlight. This is why Deutsche Bahn has been supporting the Festival of Lights as a partner since 2019.
