The historic Nikolai Quarter has proven to be a crowd puller in recent festival years. And rightly so: because the many, beautiful motifs and photo spots in the middle of Berlin and the inviting alleys of the Nikolaiviertel make an unbeatable “match”. The uniqueness of the Nikolaiviertel with its small romantic alleys full of interesting shops, cafés and restaurants was emphasised, because this historic place is “simply magical”. The productions were made possible by our loyal festival partner WBM, the Berlin-Mitte housing association.

2021
A permanent landmark in every festival is Berlin’s oldest district, the Nikolaiviertel. It was rebuilt on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the city and makes it a real Berlin sight. During the Festival of Lights it invites visitors to take a walk through the historic surroundings and past atmospherically illuminated squares and facades.
