To support a successful transportation transition, Berlin and Brandenburg are further expanding local rail transport. One of the numerous expansion projects in Project i2030 is the revival of the historic Siemensbahn, which will connect the new Siemensstadt Square district to the S-Bahn network from 2029. The 4.5-kilometer route in Spandau runs from Jungfernheide to Gartenfeld, featuring a central 800-meter-long steel viaduct. To inform the public about this flagship Berlin project, the Siemensbahn will be featured at the “Festival of Lights”. The viaduct, once illuminated in blue, will be showcased with a sound and light installation in shades of blue during the festival.
