Award winning show “Building insects”

‘Building insects’ is a stop-motion video made of paper. It shows the small world of insects on a very large scale. A spider over 20 metres tall stretches its long legs over the Brandenburg Gate. Beetles and caterpillars crawl across the façade and transform the Brandenburg Gate into a platform for insects. The insects’ habitat is repeatedly cut through by walls and panes of glass. But they make their way between the city’s buildings. The number of insects continues to decline – flying insects are particularly affected. The video projection draws attention to the importance of insects and their habitat and gives them an important place in the centre of the city of Berlin.
