The Heart of Berlin Lights Up:
Festival of Lights Contest “Colours of Love”

Show Loop approx. 10 minutes

On what is arguably Berlin’s most famous landmark, the festival theme “Colours of Love” is brought to life in a particularly impressive way. The Brandenburg Gate becomes the stage for the “Festival of Lights Contest,” featuring spectacular 3D video mappings by international artists and creative teams Sínoca, SKGPLUS, and Studio Zoltan Varga. Their impressive artworks make use of the world-renowned backdrop for a creative and fascinating interplay of colors, shapes, and movement.

The Festival of Lights extends its heartfelt thanks to McDonald’s.

Sínoca | Spain

FARBSTIMMUNG by Sínoca is a visual, poetic journey through the inner worlds of the soul. Inspired by the great authors of German Romanticism – such as Novalis, Eichendorff, and Hoffmann – every color becomes a living emotion. Moods born of light gradually merge into a virtuoso chromatic symphony, carried by love.

SKGPLUS | China

The inspiration for DONKEY, DOG, CAT, ROOSTER by SKGPLUS comes from the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, translated into the theme “Colours of Love.” The cast-aside outsiders—donkey, dog, cat, and rooster—are reinvented here as a dazzling rock band in the visual style of Queen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. On their adventurous journey, they support one another. Their deep bond demonstrates the purest form of love: helping each other, moving forward side by side, and having each other’s backs as a community.

Studio Zoltan Varga | Hungary

CHROMATIC CONNECTIONS transforms the architecture of the Brandenburg Gate into a living landscape of human connection, where colors become the universal language of love. Dynamic forms weave together, separate, and reunite—mirroring affection, empathy, and understanding. Studio Zoltan Varga brings passion and energy (red) together with trust and serenity (blue). From the interplay of these opposites emerges a powerful visual dynamic, showing how emotional diversity forms a radiant overall spectrum.
