17. Humboldt University

Projection of images on the theme of “Dreams”

This year, the Humboldt University will serve as the backdrop for a truly special art display. In celebration of our grand anniversary, we proudly present three stunning artworks painted by mouth artists Louisa Band, Thomas Kahlau, and Lars Höllerer. These artists powerfully demonstrate how art can transcend boundaries between people.

Each piece tells its own story of freedom—a freedom born from humanity, care, and overcoming barriers. And above all: inclusion. We are especially proud to showcase not only renowned artists during the festival but also the talented emerging artists of the Björn Schulz Foundation, who are participating for the second time.

Their unique perspective on freedom, displayed on the façade of Humboldt University, reminds us of something we often overlook and undervalue in the rush of everyday life: the present moment. These individuals, living with life-limiting conditions, have worked alongside educators and caregivers to create vibrant artworks that inspire us to savor each and every moment.
